My first fondant figurines

Making your own mashmallow fondant is quite messy and complicated especially for a first timer like me therefore bought a can of Satin white/ vanilla fondant to try making figurines etc. Besides the fondant, gumpaste tool set and icing colors are required; went to Wilton's outlet in Section 14 to get these two items which is quite costly. Search the youtube for video showing how to make figurines and there goes my first batch of fondant figurines which I am quite amazed with the results

First take out small portion of fondant and knead with some icing sugar. This will help to make the fondant not too soft then use a toothpick to dip into your prefered icing color and blend into fondant. Mixed well and knead and shape fondant accordance to your desired figurines. Later you can add these to your cupcakes or cakes.

Flaky Pastry

Since I have some lotus seeds paste left , I used it to make some flaky pastry. Came across this recipe from the website which was quite simple and tried making some which turned out nicely.

Mooncakes

Mid-autumn festival is around the corner; instead of buying mooncakes, I tried to making some instead. Some bakery shops offer a pre-packet ingredients for the pei-ping mooncakes but for traditional ones none. Therefore I got some recipes through the website.

Inspiration for cooking

Being laid back from work has turned me into a full time mom. So much ample time therefore started to learn how to bake and cook. The first thing I did was through the internet which some websites youtube, blogs as well as tv programmes offers free recipes and showing steps on how to bake certain types of cake or make bread etc.
Made my first muffin and butter cakes which comes out quite yummy.
